Hi there, My name is Carolyn Harris, and I am currently a JavaScript developer, and instructor at Eleven Fifty Academy. I am passionate person continually looking to push myself and be a better developer.
I started in anthropology, because I always liked science and people. After going to grad school, and learning that it wasn't really what I was looking for, I sought a career that would allow me to combine my problem solving skills in a real world context to help people.
Proficient in HTML & CSS skills needed to make web applications, including experience with responsive designand bootstrap.
Having first learned Java, I fell in love with JavaScript when I learned JS and React in 2017. I love trying to make my code clean, reusable, and functional.
React is my favorite JS library. I love React, and feel that it has made me a stronger JavaScript developer. I love the community and tools surrounding React, and I love trying to write clean React code.
I enjoy working on an Agile team. Software development processes are important to me, and I enjoy being able to contribute to that process.
I consistantly use git across teams, and other modern development tools, including some exposure to: Docker, AWS, Github, Bitbucket, Jira, Gitlab, and others.
Developed curriculum for JavaScript, specifically for React. Taught JS including fundamentals, React, Angular, GraphQL. Completed contract side work including work with: React Native, Angular, GraphQL, Firebase, prisma, responsive design.
Led a QA team, created test plans, etc. Also completed front-end development projecst using PHP, jQuery, react, and javascript.
Currently, an apprentice with Eleven Fifty, focusing on real-world job skills. Finished accelerated 9 Week Java Developer Programming course with over 300 hours of classroom instruction time.
I currently work for Metro Diner as a server. I have years of hosting, serving, and bartending experience with Chuys, in between school and jobs.
